Government sources have stated that there is currently no requirement for a second Covid-19 booster dose, despite a perceived rise in Covid-19 cases.
Completing the Booster Drive
According to the government sources, the focus is on completing the booster drive across the country before considering the need for a second booster dose.
India’s active caseload stands at 2,582, with 134 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, based on data from the Union Health Ministry.
Vaccination Progress
The Ministry data reveals that a total of 220.11 crore vaccine doses have been administered under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive so far. This includes 95.13 crore second doses and 22.41 crore precaution doses.
As the country continues its vaccination efforts and monitors the Covid-19 situation, the emphasis remains on completing the booster vaccination campaign before evaluating the necessity for additional booster doses.
