Embracing Primordial Cooking
Bar Kar, a wood-fired restaurant envisioned by Spacemen, immerses diners in the essence of primordial community cooking from the moment they step through its doors. Inspired by the concept of ancient earth oven pits, the restaurant’s cavernous interior exudes an earthy ambiance, reminiscent of a bygone era where food was cooked and smoked in the ground.
Elemental Design Features
The heart of Bar Kar pulsates with elemental energy, embodied by two distinctive features. A circular bar counter, crafted from red travertine, symbolizes the primal force of fire, while a plush banquet seating area, adorned with a fiery gold metal mesh sculpture, adds a touch of drama to the space. These abstract interpretations of heat and fire create a mesmerizing atmosphere that captivates the senses.
Interactive Dining Experience
For those eager to engage with the culinary magic unfolding before their eyes, the Chef’s Table offers a front-row seat to the action. A U-shaped counter, crafted from grey travertine, accommodates up to 20 guests, inviting them to witness the art of woodfire cooking up close. Meanwhile, the private dining room offers a cocoon-like sanctuary, with organic contours inspired by cave formations and a striking red travertine dining table beneath a floating fire mesh sculpture.
Culinary Journey
Bar Kar is more than just a restaurant; it’s a culinary journey that transports guests back to ancient cooking traditions. Terracotta stucco walls, fiery mesh installations, and the warm hues of red travertine combine to create an immersive dining experience that celebrates the elemental forces of heat and fire. As patrons indulge in the tantalizing flavors emanating from the wood-fired kitchen, they become part of a timeless ritual that transcends culinary boundaries.
