ShareChat, an Indian social media platform, has inaugurated a research and development lab in Silicon Valley named ShareChat Labs. Situated in Palo Alto, the company’s CEO and co-founder stated that this facility would construct the “most sophisticated content creation and distribution engine.”
Appointment of Former Uber Product Leader
ShareChat has enlisted the expertise of former Uber product leader, Gaurav Mishra, to spearhead its product advancements. Mishra previously oversaw Uber AI, Data, and Marketplace Platforms. Additionally, he co-founded Guruji.com, a regional language search engine acquired by Flipkart.
Focus Areas
The Silicon Valley lab will concentrate on leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance capabilities across ShareChat’s social media platform and its recently launched video platform, Moj.
“We are adopting a future-oriented strategy for both ShareChat and Moj. Our focus is on developing new products and solutions revolving around camera technology and AI/ML, particularly deep learning. We aim to recruit top technology talent globally, extending beyond India. We plan to expand our talent pool to other international regions and drive technological innovation excellence in the Indian internet sector,” Mishra stated.
Global Talent Integration
By integrating global talent, ShareChat intends to develop cutting-edge deep learning ML models. These models will aim to personalize user feeds effectively and identify NSFW content, hate speech, and fake news to enhance the user experience and community safety.
NSFW Content Detection
NSFW denotes “not safe for work,” referring to content, videos, and images unsuitable for public environments.
